We built AdmitAI.online because we lived the problem we're solving. Applying to university as international students meant navigating a process with no clear roadmap — and the mentors who could have helped cost more than most families can spend. So we decided to teach ourselves new skills in AI and build that mentor ourselves: a platform that matches students to the right universities, gives real feedback on essays, surfaces scholarships, and takes some of the weight off a decision that shapes the rest of someone's life. In this talk, we'll walk through how two students with no engineering background shipped a working AI product, what we learned about the admissions crisis along the way, and why we think AI is one of the only ways to actually bring costs down instead of driving them up.
Dariia Isyk is a student at Baylor University and co-founder of AdmitAI.online, an AI-powered platform giving students around the world access to personalized admissions mentorship — from university matching to essay feedback and scholarship discovery. Having gone through the college application process herself and seen firsthand how overwhelming and inequitable it can be, Dariia set out with her co-founder to build the guidance system she wished she'd had. At AdmitAI.online, she focuses on the student experience — shaping how the platform supports applicants through essays, strategy, and the emotional weight of the process — while learning to build and ship AI products from the ground up. She believes that in the age of AI, there's no excuse for admissions guidance to stay a luxury.
