When we went through the college admissions process ourselves as students, we quickly saw how confusing, stressful, and unequal it really is — real guidance exists, but it's usually locked behind a price tag most families can't afford. As Baylor students living through that process firsthand, we decided to use AI to close that gap. In this talk, we'll share how we taught ourselves new skills to build AdmitAI, a platform that gives every student the kind of personalized mentorship — university matching, essay feedback, scholarship discovery — that used to be reserved for those who could pay for it. We'll talk about building a real AI product with no technical background, why rising admission inflation makes tools like this more urgent than ever, and how AI can genuinely lower the stress of one of the most important turning points in a young person's life.
SJ Juraboeva is a student at Baylor University studying International Studies, and co-founder of AdmitAI.online, an AI-powered college admissions platform helping students worldwide navigate university applications, essays, and scholarships. After going through the stress and confusion of the admissions process herself, SJ taught herself to build with AI and has since helped grow AdmitAI to hundreds of daily users, with coverage in Waco Buzz and Lemon8 Media. She leads AdmitAI's international strategy, working to make expert-level admissions guidance accessible to students regardless of where they're from or what they can afford.
